BUTTERY & SWEET | EASY DESSERT
Sri Lankan butter cake is the ultimate comfort treat—like a cozy hug in cake form. Picture this: a golden, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth cake with just the right touch of buttery goodness. It’s simple yet totally indulgent, with a tender crumb that’s perfect for any occasion—whether it’s tea time, a birthday bash, or just satisfying a sweet craving. Traditionally baked in a square or round tin, this cake is often enjoyed plain or with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
But honestly, I skip the powdered sugar because this cake is already perfectly sweet. It’s just sweet enough to pass as an afternoon snack or even a crowd-pleasing appetizer at your next get-together. Pair it with a hot cup of tea or coffee, and you’ve got yourself a slice of pure happiness.
