Meet your new favourite holiday drink: the Sri Lankan Arrack Sour — a tropical twist on the classic whiskey sour that tastes like vacation in a glass. Instead of simple syrup, we’re using kithul treacle, that rich, smoky, caramel-y gold straight from the island, which pairs too perfectly with arrack’s warm, coconutty vibes.

It’s bright, sweet, tangy, and honestly feels like someone took December and gave it a Lankan makeover. Shake it up for a dinner party, pregame, or literally any night you want to pretend you’re sipping under palm trees. A simple, fun, dangerously sippable cocktail that brings a little Lanka magic to the holidays. Cheers!

Arrack Sour Cocktail

Description

A festive Sri Lankan Arrack Sour sweetened with kithul treacle. A tropical, holiday-ready twist on the classic whiskey sour.

Instructions

  1. In your cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients (only use the egg white) and shake well!
  2. Then add ice to the shaker and shake again. Pour into glass and garnish with orange slice and star anise.
