Easy Devilled Chicken Wraps

If you are looking for a delicious and protein packed meal then make this devilled chicken recipe! Sri Lankan devilled chicken is a fiery, flavor-packed dish that’s all about bold spices and vibrant colors. Picture juicy chicken pieces coated in a tangy, spicy sauce, with a perfect balance of heat and sweetness. This dish is a burst of flavor in every bite, thanks to the mix of chili, garlic, ginger, and a splash of soy sauce. It’s often stir-fried with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes, adding a nice crunch and freshness. Whether served with rice, bread, or as a standalone dish, Sri Lankan devilled chicken is a crowd-pleaser that brings a delicious kick to any meal.This is one of my go to’s on a busy weeknight where I need something healthy and high in protein. This meal has 35g of protein and 350 calories.

Devilled Chicken Wraps

Ingredients

  • Marinade 
  • 450g of chicken breast
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper 
  • Squeeze of lime
  • Devilled chicken
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 inch knob of ginger
  • ½ cup of ketchup 
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • ½ yellow pepper 
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • Sauce
  • ½ cup greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp ketchup 
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • Squeeze of lime
  • Wraps
  • Whole wheat tortilla wrap 
  • Chopped lettuce

Directions

  1. Marinate the chicken with turmeric, chili powder, salt, pepper, and lime. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Sauté the chicken until fully cooked, then set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger, then toast some chili flakes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in ketchup and an extra teaspoon of chili powder, followed by the chopped peppers and red onion.
  5. Once the veggies have softened, add the chicken back in and coat it well. Remove from heat.
  6. For a quick sauce, mix Greek yogurt, ketchup, chili powder, and lime juice.
  7. Assemble the wraps using whole wheat tortillas. Start with a bed of chopped lettuce, then add the cooked chicken and veggies.
  8. Wrap in tin foil for easy meal prep and enjoy later or now!
