If you’re looking for an ice cool drink to enjoy during a hot summer day, then you’ve come to the right recipe. Iced Koppi is not your average cool caffeinated drink, its got a few kicks to it making it a crowd favourite. It’s sweetened with condensed milk and a few splashes of your favourite liqueur or whiskey added in to bring the flavour all together. Feel free to skip the alcohol if desired.
Although you can definitely enjoy a cool glass on your patio during the day, I’d even suggest making a batch for your next party. Its a great drink for those who want to sip on something sweet and prefer a very muted alcohol flavour.
TIPS & TRICKS
Tip #1: Use a strong good quality instant coffee. This will ensure your ingredients combine well, so you aren’t left with floating bits of coffee grounds. I’d recommend my personal favourite brand Nescafe Gold, Dark Roast Instant Coffee.
Tip #2: I personally love the sweet flavour of Disaronno, which helps enhance the flavour. I’d also recommend any coffee infused whiskey. My go to is Wolfhead Whiskey Coffee Liquer. And if you are not a whiskey enthusiast, feel free to use your favourite bottle of brandy instead.
can you make it vegan?
Although you could substitute the milk products with your go to vegan milk, you would end up with a traditional iced coffee as opposed to this Sri Lankan version.

Description
Traditional Sri Lankan Iced Coffee is a sweet and boozy drink coupled with a caffeine kick is exactly what you need for the summer. Sweetened with condensed milk, this drink can be enjoyed on hot summer days or for late night drinks.

Instructions
- Bring 3 cups of water to boil and then add the 4 tbsp of instant coffee.
- Refrigerate for one hour minimum.
- In a jug combine condensed milk, sugar, milk, vanilla extract and whiskey. Pour in the cooled coffee and mix thoroughly. And you’re ready to enjoy your sweet iced cool coffee.
