Sri Lankan High Protein Baked Oats
Ingredients
- 2 black tea bags
- 5-6 cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 1 inch knob ginger
- 100g of pitted dates
- 1 cup of oats
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup of maple syrup
- 1/4 cup of milk
- Cashews to garnish
Directions
- Start by making your chai: In a pot, combine a tea bag with bruised ginger, cardamom pods, a cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring it to a boil, then pour the hot chai over the pitted dates and set aside to soak.
- In a separate bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients, then gently fold in the soaked dates and chai using a spatula.
- Pour the batter into a parchment-lined baking dish, sprinkle cashews on top, and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes until golden and set. Enjoy!
